Birthday of Heart Evanglista

                   INTRODUCTION

             

Heart Evangelista, originally named Love Marie Payawal Ongpauco, was born in Manila on February 14, 1985. Her parents are Filipino entrepreneur Ronaldo Evangelista Ongpauco and Maria Cecilia Del Gallego Payawal. Being the youngest in the family, she has siblings from both sides of her parents. Notably, her aunt is the renowned 1960s star Liberty Ilagan. Heart's great-grandfather is Dr. Don Juan Del Gallego, a Spanish businessman who founded the town of Del Gallego in Camarines Sur. Born in the Philippines, she later moved to the US and returned during her teenage years. Heart kickstarted her career at thirteen as an actor and model. Additionally, she has a half-sister named Maria, who happens to be Jodi's second cousin.


                        CAREER


From 2000 to the beginning of 2004, she was paired with John Prats in various shows like "G-Mik," "Trip," "Ang Tanging Ina," "My First Romance," and "Berks." Amid the success of her loveteam, she won the 33rd Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Award in 2003 for the most popular loveteam in RP films. Evangelista received accolades from Star Awards for Films and Star Awards for TV, winning Best New Female Personality for both movie and TV categories. She also won the Himeg Handog Awards for her single "Love Has Less Value Than My Woe" and released "Tell Me" in Australia, reaching 18th on the charts.

In 2004-2007, after four years, Prats and Evangelista's popular on-screen and off-screen tandem ended, and management decided to pair her with Geoff Eigenmann in the film "Bcuz of U." They also appeared together in the TV series "Hiram" with co-star Chris Aquino, and Evangelista was nominated for Best Actress at the Star Awards.

In 2005, Jericho Rosales mentioned that he wanted her to be the lead actress in the soap opera "Panday." Despite auditions from several women, Evangelista chose the role of Tristan's lover Eden. The storyline transitioned their on-screen relationship into a serious one that lasted for three years.

In the beginning of 2007, she renewed her contract with ABS-CBN and worked on projects with director Wenn V. Deramas. Evangelista starred in the remake of "Hiram na Mukha," a full-length series for "Pangarap na Bituin," and reprised her role in the song "Muntik Na Kitang Minahal." She also released "Luna Mystika" and participated in "Pusong Mamon."

From 2008 onwards, Evangelista transitioned to GMA Network and signed with GMA Artist Center for her first show, Codename: Asero. She played a role in the fantasy series "Luna Mystika" and appeared in the afternoon TV series "Sine Novela: Nagsimula sa Puso." In 2009, she starred in the primetime Koreanovela TV series "Full House." Evangelista became a regular host on the now-closed music variety show, Party Pilipinas.

She continued to be part of reality shows such as "Survivor Philippines: Celebrity Showdown" and played the role of a dwarf in "Dwarfina." In 2011, she signed a special contract with Viva Entertainment. In 2012, Evangelista starred in the TV series "Legacy" and "One True Love," both well-received.

In 2017, she acted in "Mulawin vs. Ravena" and took on the role of Mariella GJ De los Reyes in the Koreanovela "My Korean Jagiya." She also appeared in "Beautiful Strangers" alongside Lovi Poe. Evangelista was a judge in the seventh season of the reality talent show "StarStruck."

In 2019, she joined the cast of the television drama romance series "I Left My Heart in Sorsogon" (2021-2022) as a fashion designer and socialite. Evangelista also participated in the reality talent TV show "StarStruck" as a judge for its seventh season. She continued her television appearances in the drama series "Bling Empire."

Heart Evangelista was invited by hip fashion labels like Shiatparelli and others to participate at Paris Fashion Week in 2017. She gained attention in Harper's Bazaar in 2018 for her Asian-inspired looks. She continued to dazzle leading designers in Milan, New York, and Paris, and in 2019 she was recognized as one of the top 10 luxury influencers globally.

At Paris Fashion Week in 2020, Evangelista was the most influential person. In 2021, she starred in a Salvatore Ferragamo campaign and was named the face of the luxury bag company Lancel. She came in third in terms of influence for the 2022 Haute Couture season, after Chiara Ferragni and Kim Kardashian.

In 2023, Evangelista stayed at the top in the list of influential figures in Asia-Pacific, bringing the highest impact to the Haute Couture show. She's been on the covers of Harper's Bazaar in different countries and in special features of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

Heart Evangelista is the author of two books: the lovely book "This is Me, Love Marie," which came out in 2015, and the fashion book "Styled with Heart," which came out in 2019.

Evangelista is a co-founder and co-CEO of Pure Living and a wellness and beauty industry entrepreneur. She also shares ownership of the Philippines' Harlan Beach Resort in Boracay.
